Returning guests

12 September 2025

We have just returned home after our 3rd stay with Dukes Cottages. This time we stayed in Middle Farm. As always our hosts were most welcoming, the accommodation very comfortable and with fantastic attention to detail. Staying at Dukes Cottages feels like a real home-from-home and we have already booked our next stay in 2026! Thank you again for a fantastic stay ☺️

Extended Stay with a Dog

26 July 2025

We stayed in these cottages for an extended period while waiting for our new home to be ready. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and kindly extended our stay. We stayed in a No 3 and Middle Farm. Each one was spotlessly clean, fully equipped with everything we needed, and extremely comfortable. The gardens are lovely to sit in and let the the dog out.

The village is friendly and fantastic for dog walks, with plenty of routes right on the doorstep, as well as near the beaches. It’s also convenient to get into Newcastle and nearby shops. The hosts really look after you and respond quickly to any issues. Easy to book directly. Highly recommended.

Dukes Cottages

17 June 2025

We have stayed in almost all of the cottages that are available. All are equipped to a high standard and have everything you need. Most recently we stayed in Sycamore Cottage (again) where we had a fantastic ten day stay. Rachel and Caroline are wonderful hosts and I cannot recommend Dukes Cottages enough.

Blacksmith Cottage

19 May 2025

My family came over from Spain to stay at this cottage because of my wedding. The cottage is great, cosy and has everything you need.

Thank you Rachel for helping out with the booking. We are sure we will book again for the next visit.

First class!

18 March 2025

First class cottages. For a few years we have stayed at a variety of Dukes Cottages and have always found them to be of an excellent standard, well-equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Ideally located for easy access to the delights of Northumberland. Rachel and Caroline are always more than happy to assist with any needs/queries you may have. Can’t be faulted.

Wonderful cottage for family to relax in, rain, sun or snow, cottage has a great wood fire with a range of day to day items available to use. Beautiful place, slightly dated and worn but great experience

Perfect little cottage close to the sea and the countryside. Very cozy stone cottage full of character but with all the amenities of a modern home. Close to the beach in Whitley Bay 5 min from the Metro into Newcastle (20min) and 30 min from the wild Northumbrian hills. What more could you want? -1 star because the pub over the road is no longer open so a short drive if you want to eat out.

With the location perfectly placed in a small village with a butchers, supermarkets, local shops and a nearby Toby Carvery, the experience at Dukes Cottages is second to none.Upon arrival you will immediately notice how gorgeous the cottage is and will be given a warm welcome from the owners. Inside, the cottage is dressed from head to foot in any essential that you may need. WiFi is provided per house and is usually at a base of 4MB/s which is great for a countryside place. There is a gorgeous modern electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer; those intending to stay for a fortnight or more will have no issues what so ever. About a 2 minutes walk from the cottage is a local convenience store which is stocked with everything you will need for your first night if needs be.If shopping is more your thing, Cramlington's huge shopping centre is just a short drive away and offers something for all of the family so there is no excuse not to explore. For a great fishing and crabbing spot, Blyth Quay is excellent and very popular, with it only being a 15-20 minute drive away. Also on the same road is The Commissioners Quay Inn where you can get some splendid food. All in all, Dukes Cottages is incredibly placed and is a superb location for a comfortable, cozy and happy holiday. Nothing can be faulted!

After having had multiple holidays where me and my family have stayed here, I have to say this must be my favourite place to go on holiday. It's absolutely beautiful and it's always kept wonderfully. The lady and gentleman that run the cottages are always very happy and pleasant and they always go out of their way to help. I hope to go again soon!
