Visitors Comments

Just had a long weekend with friends and two dogs at no.3, Gordon & Caroline really do go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and comfortable! Everything you could need is provided. I agree with all the other comments, but also want to add how welcome our dogs where made. We have already booked for next year and I wouldn’t bother trawling the web again when staying in this area, can’t recommend highly enough!

5 star doesn’t do it justice! – Just had a long weekend with friends and two dogs at no.3, Gordon & Caroline (the owners) really do go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and comfortable! Everything you could need is provided for you, even store cupboard items, a well stocked spice cupboard together with the fresh eggs, butter, bacon, bread and milk. I agree with all the other comments, but also want to add how welcome our dogs where made, a very nice and escape proof garden, a bed, water bowl and treats waiting for them! It’s in a lovely village, with a lovely off road dog walk just minutes from the cottage. A very central location, 20mins into Newcastle. We have already booked for next year and I wouldn’t bother trawling the web again when staying in this area, can’t recommend highly enough!

PERFECTION – A fantastic place to stay. The cottage was gorgeous, very tastefully decorated. Cosy, clean, well designed, large lounge with beautiful fireplace, lovely little conservatory with two rocking chairs which really added character to the main lounge, loads of interesting detail to every room. A homely kitchen and dining room. Clean and nicely decorated bedrooms and bathrooms. Twin bed, bunk beds and double/king bed. 2 bathrooms. Lots of storage. Parking outside. Enclosed garden which is great if you take a dog. Owners live next door but they are not intrusive in any way. They greeted us and we saw them again when we left. Kindly stocked the fridge with bacon, eggs and milk. Fresh bread on the side when we arrived and chocolate for the kids and treats, a bowl and bed for the dog. Shame we were only there for 2 nights. Tynemouth beach and town is a really lovely town and beach to visit.

Thank you Caroline & Gordon for a superb cottage and your hospitality, everything for a first class holiday. Spotless and well presented with much attention to detail. Great value and well located for all the areas attractions and coast. Lovely relaxing garden too. Highly Recommended the Marks family. 🙂

The stayed at Dukes Cottage early November 2012. We (myself my husabnd, one three year old and one 23 month old and the dog) had a lovely stay, the cottage was well equipped, clean and tidy and the welcome basket was a great help. The vendors allowed us to arrive late on the Weds night so we could travel up at night and make the most of our time in Northumberland over the following days. The cottage is well located with easy links into Newcastle City and to the surrounding beautiful beaches and landmarks. Our two children loved the cottage and our dog was well catered for too. A lovely weekend had by all and we would definitely recommend a visit. Hopefully we will get back there one day! 🙂

Just stayed at number 4 and it was great, a complete home from home and the welcome pack when we first arrived was a nice touch, as was the greeting awaiting us from Gordon & Caroline. Thank you for a lovely stay. The Thomas Family
